Age limit for writing TNPSC Group I exam?
Dear Friend;
Group 1 exam is conducted by the UPSC for the
Civil Service posts in the Central Govt. departments. It is also conducted by
the State Public service commission for the Executive posts in State
Departments.
The following are the Group-1 posts conducted by the TNPSC :-
Deputy Collector,
Deputy Superintendent of Police,
Deputy Registrar of Co-operative Societies
Assistant Director of Rural Development Department
Chief Planning Officer
Chief Account Officer
Executive Officer
etc.
The following is the minimum eligibility criteria requires for applying is
as follows :-
a) Must be a citizen of
India
b) Age limit should be :- 20-30 for General Category candidates
(There would be a relaxation of 5 years to SCs, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s, BCMs
and Destitute Widows of all castes)
c) Educational Qualification :- Must passed out Graduation in any discipline
from a recognized university which comes under UGC.
(Preference will be given to the candidates who has higher qualification)
Selection pattern is purely on written exam / Preliminary Exam and Interview

Written Test consists of
two parts :-
Preliminary Test
Main Exams
In Preliminary Test questions are designed only
on General Knowledge.
The topics for Main Exam is as follows :-
General Studies
Paper-I
General Studies Paper-II
Descriptive type Paper-I and Paper-II
Interview and Record
For cracking the Group 1
exam a candidate has to score a minimum of 274 marks for General Category
candidates and 204 marks for Backward category candidates.
