What is the syllabus and eligibility criteria for KPSC exam??


What is KPSC, what are the posts comes under KPSC and what is the minimum eligibility criteria / syllabus for applying ?

Dear Aspirants;

KPSC – Karnataka Public Service Commission is an authority to recruit candidates in Karnataka State for the posts like:-

ADMINISTRATIVE POSTS
EXECUTIVE POSTS
UPPER GRADE POSTS
JUNIOR LEVEL POSTS

Administrative posts are the Group ‘A’ Posts like Assistant Commissioner, Chief Executive Officer etc.

Executive level posts are the Group ‘B’ Posts like Chief Planning Officer, Statistical Investigator, Deputy Director, Tahsildar etc.

For applying to the above said posts a candidate has to appear for the KAS (Karnataka Administrative Service) exam which is conducted by the KPSC every year in the month of June / July for the Group A /B (Gazette and Non-Gazette) posts in the Karnataka State Govt.

Selection pattern followed is as follows :-

PRILIMINARY EXAMS
MAINS EXAMS
INTERVIEW
MERIT

The minimum eligibility criteria requires for applying to the above said posts is as follows :-

      Must be a citizen of India
      Age limit should be 21-28 years.
      Educational qualification :-

Must has passed out Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university which comes under UGC.

Relaxation in terms of age is applicable for the Backward category candidates :-

3 years to OBC
5 years to SC-ST
5 years to Ex-servicemen

Relaxation in terms of No. of attempts for applying is also applicable for the Backward category candidates, the following is as follows :-

4+0= 4 attempts to General Category
4+3=7 attempts to OBC candidates
No limit for SC-ST candidates.


Upper Grade posts are the Upper level Group ‘C’ posts like Upper Divisional Clerk, Panchayat Development Officer, Village Accountant, Manager, Accountant etc.  The minimum educational qualification requires for applying is must has passed Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university which comes under UGC.

Lower Grade posts are the Junior level posts i.e. Group ‘D’ posts like Junior / Lower Divisional Clerk, Constable, Data Entry Operator, Assistant etc.  The minimum educational qualification requires for applying to the Group ‘D’ posts is  must has passed SSLC / Intermediate or its equivalent from a recognized board  / institution with a minimum of 50% aggregate.

Relaxation of 5% is applicable for SC-ST candidates.

Other then educational qualification a candidate must be a citizen of India and his age should be in between 18-28 years.

 Syllabus pattern followed by the KPSC for the Group C & D posts is as follows :-

GENERAL KNOWELDGE
GENERAL ENGLISH
GENERAL KANNADA
GENERAL STUDIES (Which compromises with the subjects like Science / Maths / Biology / History etc)
