The following are the Important instructions to the candidates who wish to apply for the SSC CGL Combined Graduate Level Examination 2013 :-
Important dates to be remembered for applying to the SSC CGL exam 2013 :-
- Date of Publication of Advertisement : 19th Jan, 2013
- Last Date for Online Registration : 15th Feb, 2013
- Last Date for Receiving Application at the SSC Office(Offline): 15th Feb, 2013
- Date of SSC CGL Tier-1 Exam : 14th and 21st April, 2013
What is the minimum educational qualification requires for applying to the SSC CGL Exam ?
The minimum educational qualification requiers for applying to the SSC CGL Combined Graduate Level Exam 2013 is Graduation from a recognized university but for those who wish to apply for the Compiler / Statistical Investigator Grade II / different for different posts.
Candidates who wish to apply for the Compiler post of SSC CGL 2013 has to pass Bachelor’s degree from recognized university with the subjects like Economics or Statistics or Mathematics as compulsory or Elective Subject.
For those who want to apply for the Statistical investigator Grade II post a candidate has to pass Bachelor degree with Statistics as one of the main subject OR Bachelor Degree with Mathematics as one of the main subjects OR Bachelor Degree with Economics OR Bachelor Degree with Commerce (with Statistics as a paper studied in one year/two years/all the three years as the case may be) as one of the main subjects
For all other posts a Bachelor degree in any stream from a recognized university is required.

How To Apply for the SSC CGL exam 2013 ?
Applications are invited both online as well as Offline, those who wish to apply for offline mode can submit the filled application form with relevant documents by means of Central Recruitment Fee Stamps(CRFS).
Those who wish to apply through online mode can easily submit the application by visiting the SSC official page i.e. (www.ssc.nic.in) after filling up of application form a candidate has to generate the Fees challan, Challan of Rs. 100 can be deposited in any SBI Bank branches or or also they can pay fees through Online Account in SBI. For further references a candidate has to note down his / her Registration No.

SSC CGL Exam 2013 has been divided into three Tier i.e. Tier I, Tier II and Tier III and the syllabus for the said Tier is as follows :-

Each topic contains 50questions of 200marks and the duration for the exam is two hours. For VH:candidates the duration of time is 2 hours 40 minutes.

As its a Group B and C post, so there are no restriction regarding no. of time to appear for the exam.
You can apply n no. of times, but within the prescribed age limit.
However, for the post of Assistant in CSS maximum of three attempts are available.

Final year students are not eligible for the SSC CGL exam.
Refer the notification page no. 10, where in it is stated that
"Note- III : All candidates who are declared qualified by the Commission for appearing at the Interview/Skill Test/Computer Proficiency Test will be required to produce the relevant Certificates such as Mark sheets for all the three years of Graduation/ Provisional Certificate/ Certificate of Graduation in original as proof of having
acquired the minimum educational qualification on or before the 1st January,2013,
failing which the candidature of such candidates will be cancelled by the Commission."

Yes, there is a negative marking of 25% i.e. 1/4th of each wrong answer is applicable.

Being a Mechaical engineer you are not eligible for Statistical investigator post.
Refer page no. 10 item no. 6 and sub item no. (ii)of Essential qualification, where in it is stated that :-
"For applying to the Statistical Investigator Grade – II post a candidate has to pass
