What are the posts comes under the Group 'A' officers and Group 'B' officers in both Central and state government?
Dear Aspirant;
Group A posts in Government sectors are the Civil service posts conducted by the UPSC for the posts in Central Government departments and it is also conducted by the State Public service commission for the posts in State Government departments.
While Group B are the Executive level posts conducted by the State Public Service commission as well as Staff selection commission for the posts in State as well as Central Govt. departments.
The minimum eligibility criteria requires for applying to the Group A as well as Group B posts in Central / State Government department is as follows :-
a) Must be a citizen of India
b) Age limit should be 21-30 (Relaxation of 3 years to OBC and 5 to SC-ST is applicable)
c) Educational Qualification :- Just passed Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university which comes under UGC is required.
The following are the Group A posts in Central Govt. departments :-
IAS / IPS / IAF / IFS / etc.
The following are the Group A posts in State Govt. departments :-
Assistant Commissioner
Chief Executive Officer
Executive Officer
Tahsildar
etc.
Number of attempts for applying to the above said exams :-
4 to General Category candidates
7 to OBC candidates
No limit for Sc-St candidates.
The following are the Group B posts conducted by the SSC in Central Govt. departments :-
Deputy Director
Registrar
Divisional Manager
Commercial Manager
etc
The following are the Group B posts conducted by the SPSC for the posts in State Govt. departments :-
Registrar
Statistical Investigator
Village Accountant
Panchayat Development officer
Nodal Officer

etc.
