Is it necessary to do Ph.D. after passing NET exams?

National Eligibility Test is conducted by the University Grants Commission for the lecturer post in the Govt. degree colleges.

The minimum eligibility criteria requires for applying to the Lecturer post is as follows:-

a) Must be a citizen of India

b) Age limit should be in between 18-35 years.

c) Educational Qualification: - Master degree in a discipline in which a candidate wants to do teaching.

After completion of your PH.D degree you may be eligible for applying to the posts in the following sectors / Organizations :-

Professor / Lecturer post in university/college

Scientist in a Government lab / department.

Instructor of Coaching Institutes

Project Officer in Universities

You may also eligible for applying to the various posts in the Govt. organisations like :- 

BSNL

ISRO

DRDO

SAIL

GAIL

HAL

BEML

etc.

You will never be jobless after completion of Doctrate Degree in Philosophy
