Current affairs is one of the topic followed by almost all
recruiting authorities for the Competitive exam, for becoming perfect in the General
awareness one should have to

WATCH NEWS CHANNELS
WATCH DISCOVERY CHANNELS
Etc.
Apart from the above a candidate has to prefer the books from the
best authors. I advise you to refer PRATIYOGITA DARPAN / MANORAMA YEAR BOOK
because this books are specially prepared for the various Competitive exams.
For your information, you are preparing General Awareness for
the IDBI exam, means you have to give more preference to the General Awareness
/ Current affairs in respect of Banking sector only.
