KAS - 2013 exam details ?

Exam date for KAS exam? 

Hy i have passed Graduation and want to apply for KAS exam, so please tell me what is the minimum eligibility criteria requires including percentage and age for applying to KAS exam and in which month KAS exam is going to be held.

Dear Aspirant;

KAS - Karnataka Administrative service, its an Administrative service exam which is conducted by the Karnataka Public Service Commission, some of the posts comes under KAS is as follows :-

ASSISTANT COMMISSIONER
CHIEF PLANNING OFFICER
DEPUTY DIRECTOR
TAHSILDAR
EXECUTIVE OFFICER 
etc.

The minimum eligibility criteria requires for applying to the KAS exam is as follows :-

a) Must be a citizen of India
b) Age limit should be 21 - 35 for General Category

Relaxation of 3 years to OBC and 5 years to SC/ST is applicable



Must has passed out Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university which comes under UGC.


Selection pattern followed by the KPSC is as follows :-

PRELIMINARY EXAM (Two Papers I & II Objective type)
MAINS EXAM
INTERVIEW
MERIT

The following is the syllabus pattern followed by the KPSC for the KAS exam :-

PRELIMINARY EXAM SYLLABUS :-  

In this part there are two papers carrying 100 questions in each paper with each question carrying two marks and duration for each paper will be of two hours.

Paper – I: - Contains the following topics

Current events of national and international importance.
History of India - (With special importance on Karnataka)
World Geography and special focus on Karnataka and India.
Indian polity
Indian economy

Paper – II: Contains the following topics

Current events of State importance and important state Government Programmes.
General Science & Technology
Environment & Ecology
General Mental Ability
Comprehension, 
Logical reasoning
Analytical ability

Part - II is the Mains Exam, which consists of four papers, the following are the details :-

Paper - I consists of two languages (Kanada & English) as Compulsory subjects 
(The marks allotted for the Languages are 150 each 150*2=300marks)


Paper - II - General Studies it consists of two papers, the following are the details of Paper - II with syllabus as well as Marks :-

GENERAL STUDIES PAPER 1 (300 MARKS)



  • Modern History of India and Indian Culture with special reference to the History and Culture of Karnataka
  • Current events of State, National and International importance
  • Statistical Analysis, Graphs and Diagrams



GENERAL STUDIES PAPER -2 (300 MARKS)

  • Indian Polity with special reference to Karnataka State
  • Indian Economy and Geography of India with Special reference to Karnataka Economy and Karnataka Geography
  • The roll and impact of Science and Technology in the development of Karnataka and India.

Paper  -III also consists of two papers i.e. Optional 1  & 2 (The marks allotted for the Optional papers are 600 MARKS each i.e 600*2 = 1200).  A candidate has to choose two papers from the following syllabus based on his interest and qualification.

The following are the topics / syllabus for Optional Exam :-

Public administration, Commerce and Accountancy, Economics, Electrical engineering, Geography, Geology, Law, Management, Mathematics, Medical Science, Sociology, Anthropology, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and veterinary science, Chemistry, Civil engineering, Philosophy, Political Science, psychology, Statistics, Zoology, Kannada lit etc.,
