Hy, this Khaja Pasha from Karnataka, Gulbarga, sir i have passed Graduation in Commerce, i am very much interested in doing government job in railways so please suggest me the details of  government job opportunities available in Railways, i will be thankful to you :)
Government job in railways after completing graduation in Commerce

Dear Aspirant;



There are numerous of opportunities available in Railways for those who has passed out Graduation in any discipline or having Technical degree. 



The following are some of the Technical posts that you may be eligible for applying to the jobs in Railways :-

TICKET COLLECTOR
LOCO PILOT
STATION MASTER
SECTION ENGINEER
JUNIOR ENGINEER
etc.

The following are some of the administrative posts in Railways :-

COMMERCIAL MANAGER
DIVISIONAL MANAGER
UPPER DIVISIONAL CLERK
LOWER DIVISIONAL CLERK
DATA ENTRY OPERATOR
etc.

Other then educational qualification a candidate must be a citizen of India and his age does not exceeds to 28 years for General Category candidates. There would be a relaxation of 3 years to OBC / 5 to SC-ST and 10 to Ex-servicemen is applicable.

Railways is the biggest employer of Government of India, the recruitment for the posts in Railways sector is recruited by the Railways recruitment board. As said above that you have passed out SSLC and want to do job in Railways sector then for your information on base of SSLC qualification you may be eligible for applying to Group D posts.

The following are some of the Junior level Group 'D' posts that you may be eligible for :-

LOWER DIVISIONAL CLERK
DATA ENTRY OPERATOR
TICKET COLLECTOR
LOCO PILOT
RAILWAY POLICE
TTI
etc.

The minimum eligibility criteria requires for applying to the above said posts is as follows :-

a) Must be a citizen of India
b) Age limit should be 18-30 years
c) Educational qualification :- 50% aggregate in SSLC or its equivalent from a recognized board / institution.

The syllabus pattern for the above said posts is as follows :-


Selection is purely based on Written exam / Interview and on Merit

What qualification needed to get Job in Railways?

Dear Friend;

Railways is the biggest employer of Government of India, Railways jobs are the secured jobs next to Govt. sector, the posts under Railways comes under Central Government and hence posting will be throughout India. The recruitment for the posts in the Railways departments is done by the Railways recruitment board. 

Like other Govt. departments here also posts has been divided into Groups like :-

Group A - CIVIL SERVICE POSTS :-

The recruitment for the Civil service posts are conducted by the Union Public service commission for the posts like Indian Railway Traffic Service, Indian Railway Personnel Service, Indian Railway Stores Service, Indian Railway Accounts Service etc.

Group B - EXECUTIVE LEVEL POSTS :-

The recruitment for the Executive level posts are conducted by the Railways recruitment board for the posts like Commercial Manager, Divisional Manager etc.

Group C - UPPER LEVEL POSTS & Group D - JUNIOR LEVEL POSTS :-

The recruitment for the above said level posts are also conducted by the RRB for the posts like Upper Divisional Clerk, Accountant, Superintendent etc and the Junior level posts like Lower Divisional Clerk, Ticket Collector, Loco pilot etc.

The minimum educational qualification requires for applying to the Group A,B & C posts is 50% aggregate in Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university which comes under UGC. 

While for the Group D posts a candidate has to passed out SSLC / Intermediate or Its equivalent with a minimum of 50% aggregate from a recognized board / institution.

Apart from educational qualification a candidate must be a Citizen of India and his age does not exceeds to 30 years.

How to apply for jobs in Indian Railways ?


Dear Aspirants;

Railways is considered to be the biggest employer of Government of India.  There are numerous of vacancies are available in Railways due to its large tracks which has spread all over the country.  Railways comes under Central Government and the recruitment for the jobs in Railways is recruited by the Railways Recruitment Board in short its called RRB.  



As other Government departments here also posts has been divided into groups based on the educational qualification, they are as follows :-

Group A
Group B
Group C
Group D

Group A posts are the Civil service posts in Railways and the recruitment for which is done by the Union Public Service Commission.

Group B & C are the Executive as well as Upper Grade Posts and the recruitment for which is done by the Staff Selection Commission.

For applying to the Group A, B and C posts a candidate has to pass Graduation from a recognized university which comes under UGD.

Group D posts are the low level / Junior level posts in Railways sector and for applying to the Group D posts in Railways a candidate has to pass atleast a minimum of SSLC or ITI or its equivalent course from a recognized board / institution.



Note :-

Grade applies above to both Technical and Administrative posts but the minimum qualification requires is different for different posts.


Other than educational qualification the following are minimum eligibility criteria requires for applying to the posts in Railways :-

1) Citizenship of Indian
2) Age 18 – 33 years (Relaxation as per category)


The Syllabus patter for the Railway sector exams mainly consists of objective type which includes equal questions in :
