Syllabus and Exam pattern followed by SBI for PO post


Dear Aspirants; 

Before I would provide you complete details of Syllabus pattern I would like to tell you about the Exam pattern followed by the SBI Bank for the PO post :- 

The exam pattern consists Two phase mainly :-

a) Phase-I

b) Phase-II


Phase I of the entrance exam consists of Written Examination (250 marks) consisting of Objective Tests and Descriptive Test. 

Phase II of the entrance exam followed Group Discussion (20 marks) & Interview (30 marks) 




Syllabus pattern plays a very important role in cracking competitive / entrance exams, because after getting the syllabus pattern a candidate will get the knowledge as what to and how much a candidate has to study for certain certain topics. 

Here in Banking sector the SBI follows the following syllabus pattern for the Phase – I (a) Written examination (200marks) for the Probationary officer post 2013 :- 






The Objective Tests with 2 hour duration will consists of 4 Sections with 50 marks each. A candidate has to score atleast a minimum of 24marks in each topic for getting eligible for cutoff. 

Phase – I (b) – Descriptive Paper (50marks) 

Candidates who have qualified in the objective type test by scoring a minimum of 24 marks in each section(To be decided by the Bank on the basis of the performance of all the competing candidates taken together in each test to a minimum required level for each category). Will become eligible for the Descriptive Test of one hour duration. Descriptive paper consists of 50 makrs. 

The aggregate marks of candidates qualifying in both the Objective Tests and Descriptive Test will be arranged in descending order in each category and the candidates in the order of merit, subject to 3 times the number of vacancies in each category, will be called for Group Discussion and Interview (Phase II). The qualifying marks in Group Discussion & Interview will be as decided by the Bank.

Dear Aspirants;

Relaxation in terms of age and no. of post is provided by the Government as per Constitution to Backward Category candidates for applying to any post either it may be in Govt. / Railways or Banking. 

For the SBI PO exam 2013 relaxation in terms of age is provided for the Backward category candidates like SC / ST / OBC and special category candidates like Ex service men / PH / PD / domicile in Jammu and Kashmir / VH / OH candidates :- 

The following are the relaxation applicable for the Backward Category and Other category candidates is as follows :-


Relaxation of Three years is applicable for the OBC (Other Backward Category candidates like 2A / 2B/2C etc)

Relaxation of Five years is applicable for the SC / ST candidates and also for the Ex-servicemen and for those who has been domiciled in Kashmir division (Refer notification for more details)

Relaxation of 10 years is applicable for VH/OH General category candidates.

Relaxation of 13 years is applicable for the VH/OH (OBC) category candidates.

Relaxation of 15 years for VH/OH (SC/ST) category candidates.


NOTE : 

CUMULATIVE AGE RELAXATION WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE EITHER UNDER THE ABOVE ITEMS OR IN COMBINATION WITH ANY OTHER ITEMS.

Dear Sir, This is Vinya from Karnataka, sir i have passed PUC in Commerce and wanted to know the job opportunities available for me on base of puc in commerce.  So can you please suggest me some of the good jobs available as per my educational qualification i.e. PUC in Commerce?

As said above that you have passed out Intermediate with Commerce stream and want to know the job opportunities but you have not told about in which sector your want to do the job, for your information Government / Railways as well as Banking sector posts are the most secured posts in terms of job security other then Pvt. sector posts.

But, on base of Intermediate you may be eligible for applying to only Group D junior level posts only, but getting a good job in the above said sector a candidate has to passed out Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university which comes under UGC.

As said above that you have passed out Intermediate then on base of SSLC / Intermediate with a minimum of 50% aggregate from a recognized board you may be eligible for applying to the posts like :-

LOWER DIVISIONAL CLERK
DATA ENTRY OPERATOR
MULTI TASKING STAFF
CONSTABLE
ASSISTANT
Etc.

For getting a job in the above said sectors a candidate has to appear for the Entrance / Competitive exam and has to come in merit.

Other than educational qualification a candidate must be a citizen of India and his age does not exceeds to 28 years. Relaxation of 3 years to OBC and 5 years to SC-ST is applicable.

For Cracking the above said Group D post a candidate should be perfect in the following topics :-

After completion of your Graduation you may be eligible for applying to the posts like :-

As you all aware that Government jobs are the most secured job in terms of job security now a days, thats the reason why so many of you peoples wants to get government jobs though the salary compare to pvt. sector jobs are less in government sector. 


First of all i would like to explain you there are many kind of government jobs are available which are either based on the Qualification or they are based on Grade and Specializations. 

Government jobs has been divided into category they are :- 

Jobs in Government organizations 
Jobs based on Departments like (ESIC, EPFO etc) 
etc. 

Government jobs based on Grade or Category is as follows :- 

Group A - Civil Service Posts - For applying to the Group A Civil Service post a candidate has to pass Graduation in any discipline - The recruitment for which is usually done by UPSC - Union Public Service Commission

Group B - Executive level posts - For applying to the Group B - Executive level posts a candidate has to pass Graduation in any discipline (Here also posts are divided into specialization) - The recruitment for which is done by SSC - Staff Selection Commission

Group C - Upper Grade Posts & Group D - Lower Grade Posts. 


The recruitment for the Group B, C & D Grade posts are done by the following :-

If you are from Technical background like Graduation in Engineering / Technology and wants jobs in Government sector then going to jobs in Government organizations like BHEL / BEML/ DRDO / BSNL / ONGC / ISRO/POWER CORPORATIONS etc. is the best option, because here more than 80% vacancies will be reserved for technical candidates only. 


Step by Step procedure for getting jobs in Government sector :- 


First you have to check your Education level if you are a Graduate then you will be eligible for almost all Administrative level posts. 

If you are from Technical Background like Gradation in Engineering / Technology then you will be eligible for applying to the Technical posts in the Government sector. 

If you have passed only SSLC / PUC / ITI / Diploma then you will be eligible for applying to only Group D Junior Grade posts. 

For getting notified about latest openings in Government sector you have to daily check the newspaper Local as well as National or you have to subscribe to the job portal, we are also maintaining Job portal just subscribe for free and get notified instantly directly in your mail box whenever there would be a vacancy. 

Next after getting alert you have to first check its notification details, there you will get the details of number of posts, minimum as well as Maximum age limit, educational qualification, as well as percentage. 

If you posses all the eligibility criteria for the post then you have to move forward for the online application link and have to fill the details as per the prescribed form, before applying online you have to scan your recent passport size photo and signature also you have to keep all the relevant documents for the post. 

After submitting your application form you have to print the FEES CHALLAN as well as application form, and have to check the CHALLAN in that or in the Notification it will be clearly mention that in which bank you have to fill the fees, because every Government depart use a separate branch. 

After submitting to your Fees you have to again take the printout of form and have to note down the USERNAME and PASSWORD for future needs. 

Now, its completed check the notification for Written exam and Hall ticket dates, provide the correct mobile / contact number and email address in the application for future correspondences. 

After submitting the application form, you have to proceed for next step i.e. Checking the syllabus pattern for further studies, in the notification they will clearly mention about the syllabus pattern now you have to prepare yourself as per that syllabus pattern only. 

Many of the recruiting authorities follow the following syllabus pattern for the entrance / competitive exams for the Group C & D posts :-

General (State Language) 
General English 
General Studies
